Ian ,.... best wishes on 'keeping up' with the stuff you're maintaining... and even MORE best wishes on the finding work! It's tough... but man, there has to be some journeyman electrician in your area that needs a good apprentice/worker, no? Anyway, again, best to ya on the hunt, IT'S TOUGH right now!

they sold me the wrong lighting adapter at the store, so i'll have to re-work my circuitry a bit. grrr...

and i didn't get everything done this weekend... stupid leaves:

and on to what i did get done. just the wiring on the truck side of things, like installing a new wiring harness (the right way, this time) and getting connections sealed up on the wires. also did a rear brake job on the truck

and on the trailer side of things: the control box. i'm putting them all in a waterproof box and sealing all connections

not done yet, but i should be able to get to it more once december rolls around

Wow Ian... just found this thread... sorry to hear that the roof is'int done yet but it gives me time to make a suggestion... why not mount one or two solar panels to the roof to help charge the battery? You can get thin light weight ones that will work very well even when not aligned perfectly to the sun. I'd also install a car radio antenna either one you can flip down or one of the VW angled ones and/or a Sirius/XM radio one. Then rough in some speakers in the roof corners. You can get low profile marine rated ones that will not need much of a box and will be able to handle the damp. Then you'll be set should you want to add a radio for some tunes.

Here's a link to the kind of panel I'm thinking of it's very low profile about 1/2" tall. I know CT is no where near you but I've seen similar ones at wally world.
If you back link to the main CT solar panel page you'll see a little 1.5W panel. I use it to keep my truck batt. charged if I park it for more than a week and it puts out enough juice even during a rainy week to keep the batt. charged.

-wire the truck up a bit more
-measure for the roof
-pick up aluminum for the roof
-cut aluminum for the roof (maybe)
-measure for the roof

length. i think i cut the angles a bit to acute on the front legs.

i'm gonna go up there again, but this time with the trailer and all frame pieces to have welded-to-fit.

i really wish i a) had a tig machine, and b)knew how to use said tig machine

hehe, thanks mark.

the guy who welds all the stuff is about 45 mins away, and on a weekday, that means traffic. so i'm looking to see if any local guys have any equipment. there's one shop close by, but they say the welder is inexperienced with aluminum... whatever that means
