The Best Soft-Topper is Back!

Just wanted to put out the word that Can-Back is back in business!!

The quick and dirty: Can-Back started in 1995, but shut its doors in 2006 when the economy was tanking. Now, they've finally re-launched their company & website and are currently in production on a few models of camper shells.

These guys make an awesome soft top camper shell, imo (which should be taken with a grain of salt since I've never owned nor used one). I can say that I have been searching for a well-made soft topper, for the past five or so years, and these are the only guys who I think have hit that mark. A soft top that can carry up to 600-lbs!! Roof tent anyone? Roll up sides for quick and easy access to equipment/gear, too. The catch for me was they were out of business at the time (circa 2010). Wah wah wah ...

These look and work gloriously on 1st gen 4runners, but I'm in the market for a shell for a 3rd gen pickup ... which is the real reason I've posted this here. They've just restarted production and only have two models available at the moment (05-15 Tacos, 99-06 Chevys), but are taking inputs for what models to include in their lineup! I made all both my friends sign up so there are at least 3 of us in line for 3rd gen tops

I think you 1st gen runner guys will find them irresistible (don't worry you're already in their plans), but I'm hoping to appeal to some 3rd gen pickup folks and get THAT ball rolling.

Enjoy!

Man, that would be killer on my pickup. Doesn't look like they're remotely in the running though. :/
