A little something I took a couple of months ago. And, yes, it is right side up. This little guy was hanging upside down from his web above a hiking trail.

Here's some pix of my Baja trip... If anyone's interested.
The ending wasn't great. Breaking an axle +/- 250 miles south of the border. My truck is still down there sitting in a dirt lot... hmmm;...

Well, actually the wheel broke off and flew past me at 40 mph. I dropped down and slid on the axle housing for a while... ;(

How in the heck did you manage to snap that axle just driving down the road?! They are usually pretty strong... I could understand if you were bogged down or something...

Do you think your truck is still there? Do you think it is parted out?

I have an idea. If someone changed the axle bearing and nicked the axleshaft with a chisel trying to break the bearing cage instead of pressing it off then it would put a small hairline crack in the axle. My best guess.

Well, the Mexican family which dragged my truck off the road gave me fish taco's, beer, and a place to stay. The truck is locked behind a fence, they assured me it would be safe overnight. We'll see I guess.
Mexican's are very genuine people. I don't think anything will be damaged or stolen... Who knows. I'll find out tomorrow when I drive down.
Here's a pic of the bearing...

Interesting link tc... not sure I like the idea of giving up the rear ABS and it seems to need a real shmorgasboard of parts from a whole bunch of different models/years but still...

Is it just me or does that spire on the middle right look like a man with a helmet standing against a counter with his hands folded in front of him... maybe praying to the moon?...
sort of like an Easter Island stone face in a way...
