Very cool post. I'm thinking of doing a similar swap. Where are you finding them for cheap?

you can get em for 500 all day long on ebay. I would recommend contacting a jdm importer directly to save even more cash by circumventing the middle man (ebay)

Loking for user: MSE

DOes anyone know if this user is still around? They were last posting on here in 2010, and saying that they were building parts for the Lexus V8 Swap, and I need to get hold of them. If anyone can help me out, I would sure appreciate it! Thanks!

Ok. I know this thread is a little old, but could somebody break down exactly what i need to get to do this swap in my 1993 Hilux Surf? Am i gonna need an electric fan and a different radiator because of clearance issues? Im tryin to gather everything i need and figure out a cost. I would very much like to do this swap especially since the 1uz-fe's are everywhere over here in Japan....

Engine mounts, bellhousing, modified headers or aftermarket ones. a new modified sump is needed if you don't want to do a body lift. I use the stock ECU, Stock diesel Surf Radiator (recored).

Best fan I've found is a spal http://www.spalusa.com/store/main.as...&item=30100401
One of the few that fits perfect and doesn't give any cooling problems thrashing it in an Aussie summer.

sweet. is there anywhere in particular to get the headers? what about the engine mounts and the belhousing kit? i already have a 3inch body lift so i dont think i need a modified sump. my surf is gasoline so, will a diesel radiator fit in mine?

Headers depend on what clutch release setup you use. If you wish to use the stock slave cylinder on the outside of the box with a clutch fork, it doesn't leave you with much room on the side for headers. I've started using Howe Hydraulic release bearings for my conversions, they cost less than $150 from summit and save a HEAP of time with header fab down the track. ( plus its one less thing for me to tear off under the car )

I've used a petrol surf radiator before, worked fine, I just had it recored to make sure it was up to the task.

With a 3" body life you won't need a sump change.

I'll post pics of engine mounts in a bit if you like and the part number of the Howe Hydraulic release bearing.

Ok. The hydraulic release bearing, is that for manual trans? Mine is an automatic. Is there any company out there that sells the custom engine mounts or do i have to fab them up myself?

Wire harness

What did you do for the wiring harness? Is there a company that makes a harness for the conversion?
