7MGTE Truck!

1993 Toyota Pickup Xtra Cab
1989 7MGTE

Truck is Solid Axle Swapped with 5.29 's sitting on 35" tires with 6" lift and 1" body lift.

Motor is in truck and turns over HOWEVER Broken wire in harness between CPS and ECU Gave no spark. Probably for the best as I forgot a freeze plug behind the front Timing Cover (Machine shop gave me a bag of plugs and didnt include that freeze plug. My dumb ass fault for not checking)
More on that here
http://www.supramania.com/forums/sho...23#post1900623

Any Way I re did the entire harness with new shielded CPS cable and Coax Knock cable with braided sleeving to make it pretty. Will try to post pictures later. I have ordered the plug and the gaskets needed to remove the front timing cover to replace the plug. Will do it in the spring when I am done the rotation I am on.

Done:
-JE Pistons
- New Bearings
-ARP Everything
-1.3 MHG
-All new seals & Gaskets
-Walbro 255

Looking great, I just finished getting the hone and decking done on my 7mgte motor from my 1988 supra. I thought about putting it back together and selling the motor since I have chosen to go with a 1jz vvt-i motor for the car. I know a lot of people dont like the vvt-i but I have come to appreciate the better gas mileage and I am gonna work on getting a aftermarket controller to work with it so I can get over 600 hp with boost.

I see you plan on running the lexus AFM, have you considered running a Map sensor setup instead? Being able to run the MAP sensor would also allow you to run a wideband 02 sensor, tune your fuel and ignition for a little better control and eliminate the boost fuel cut if you haven't already. Plus no restriction from your intake for later units. I also like running a water/meth injection and having it tuned for that so you can run 87 octane and still boost nicely. Just some thoughts for the build

Looking good either way. How much have you gotten done in the last 4 months btw?
Need any spare 7m parts?

So I bought the truck from a friend who was rocking a built 22RE but wanted to swap in a 1JZ. He solid axle swapped it, bought a cab and box rust free from South Carolina and then ran out of money.

So I bought it from him and brought it to my friends garage. (not my flag)

Here is how it looked the first day I got it

So I began rust proofing the truck and installing the gas tank (PO had hacked off the stock mounting brackets)

I bought new fuel lines, break lines and Energy Suspension GM transmission mounts for engine mounts.

I had to make custom engine brackets

Well I have thought about this and I do want to go to MAP but I still need to get it running. Water/Meth is a good idea though!

Well My work has rotated me to Down Town Toronto ON for 6 months so progress has almost ground to a halt. There is not much I can do while in a condo. However I did take the wiring harness down with my, stripped off all the electrical tape and loom, removed the unnecessary wires (EGR, VSV and some other random ˟˟˟˟) and re ran the Knock sensor wires with Coax cable and the CPS cable with new shielded cable. as well as replacing some Toyota connectors along the way

Actually, a spare oil pan, and the manifold support brackets with mounting bolts.

Switching to a MAP sensor setup requires more than just switching out a sensor, that would be a whole stand alone fuel system. Using the Lexus AFM and larger injectors is a way to run higher boost within the confines of the stock ECU system. A stand alone system would be sweet, but it gets expensive, especially if you have to pay someone to tune it properly. You can probably get somewhere in the mid to high 300's to the rear wheels with the stock system (and Lexus AFM/injectors), which, trust me, is retarded in these trucks, haha.

Oh, an I would definitely suggest running a wideband O2 sensor and gauge if you're going to be raising the boost. Its a good way to see if you're killing your expensive new motor, or over-fueling and not making the power you should (which, conversely, can also kill a motor if its WAAAY rich, due to gas pouring past the rings and into your oil).

True Story about the costs associated with switching to MAP. It is a plan for down the road but for now I want to get it sunning at stock boost, stock 440's and stock 7M AFM housing.

Wideband is a must, I will probably order that mid march. I have already installed mechanical fuel and oil pressure gauges.

But I cannot wait to drive this thing.

Tranny Info!

I decided to Hybrid an R154 with an R150F

Here are the two transmissions beside eachother

I rebuilt them using the Supra (R154) Input shaft, counter shaft and gears so I could use the R154 bellhousing.
THe output shaft was from the R150F and I had the supra gears pressed onto it. Unfortunately I am stuck with the Chain case for now but shouldnt be an issue untill I start abusing it...oh and get a front drive shaft lol

ANYWAY
