its nice when you have the funds for projects .. you might want to fix your ISC hose though, it should be routed behind the MAF..

Yeah that hose. I forgot the sc400 routing. There was a big hole on the k&n so, this is where i've plug it. Plus, I dont have a lot of space after the maf. I might have to relocate the battery on driver side...I still have some 3" pipe...Maybe I'll remove the TRC stuff and put it there... Ill figure out someting for it. Now, I have to change the front yoke seal on the transfercase. Also, I have to make the fuel pump work proprely. I got signal when i start, and the other signal is on the alternator. When the alt start to charge, it send a small signal. Just enough to light up a test light. Well, my fuel pump relay is on this signal. When the engine gets hot and below 800rpm, the signal drop and the relay disengage. So i run out of fuel and it stall. I did try to make it work with the ecu but it didnt. I was looking for a positive signal tho. After looking at the wiring diagram, i think its negative lol. Going in the garage to figure this out just after these words.

Funds? To be honest, budget was realy low on this project. If we dont look on what i've spent on the tacoma(that was buisness money)I did not spent more than 2K with my personal $$. Car was 900, BH 500, Driveshaft 450, rad 225, maybe 200$ in misc. All that minus unwanted parts I've sold 400-500$ that wasent a big budget swap.

Anyway, keep the comments/advices coming. I should be loading the 2nd page with more pictures. Im now working with CAD to design a front bumper. I allready got so 1/8 sheet metal and going to borow a plasma cutter from a friend tommorow. That should be interresting.

Thanks
Dave

Ok, I tested signals from the ecu. Both pins "DI" and "FPC" goes to the fuel pump computer(I dont have it ) but still, i should get signals. Notin. No +, No - from both wires. Any ideas? That would be apreciated.
Thanks

An easy way to wire up the pump is to have turn on with key on
power, this is what i did and its worked out great. Just use the key
on 12v as the signal wire to your relay.
My isc is tapped right into the throttle body.

O the plug IH1 i think( white squarish one next to the main engine plug)
is were you can find lots of spare wires. And the fuel pump power is there
too.

Plugs may not be the same. All the wiring and ecu if from a sc400 1992 and yours from 90 LS. From the pics in your thread, ecu is different. Wiring and plugs might be to. I dont like having the fuel pump running when the engine is not. This is why it was hooked up to the alt sensing. I was thinking about a timed relay. I was thinking about a lot of things to lol. Going to work on this. Ill let you know.

yea the hose for the idle valve should be after the maf or you have a leak .

The fuel pump .. at the cor relay you have one wire that comes from the old 3.0 maf .. you can connect that wire to the FC on the sc ecu and thats it it should work . liike it did when you had the 3.0 .

when i get home this afternoon ill get you more detailed info on this .

yes there is a cranking signal. You can put a relay from the starter signal when cranking, so that way, you get fuel when starting. RMA, yes i do have that wire from the old Maf. Its Grn-Yel on my 93. It was cuted and laying on the truck floor. When sending ground to it, the fuel pump relay engage. So, I just need a neg signal when engine is running. I should get one from the Maf. That should make sens. Thanks man. lol

I did fixed the Idle Valve. Unpluged the batt, to reset codes. I started the engine, gave a few shot on the gaz and then turned of the engine. I runned codes and i got rid of 24 and 31. That was from Maf. Ill see if i still have them after a test drive. I still have 27 and 29 tho. Sub Oxy are not installed yet. I will do it later.

there is a relay for the fuel pump under the dash on the drivers side, thats the one that recieved the ground signal from the old maf, get that working and you may be set?
i have had the CE light on the whole time, it turns off every third trip then comes back on.
its just letting me know that my auto trans is missing...

Yes, thats what I am thinking. I just need to send a negativ signal to that relay when the engine is running.

i just came out with a stupid idea. The check engine light. That trows out a negativ signal from the computer to the cluster. I must allways have a check engine light on tho.

EDiT: Stupid idea wont work. When I turn the key to "ON" position, the check engine turns on with all the other ones.

Big test drive today. Probly more than 150kms done. I got rid of Maf codes and engine is not stalling anymore. So, it was all about that hose. Thanks guys. Hooking up the fuel pump relay from the alt sens was not a bad idea after all. Tho, I still have 27-29 and the 42 codes. 42 is VSS(speed sensor). I think i should hook it up to.
Cheers !!

so on the fuel pump all you need to do , assuming its still all original , is at IH1 #23 green and yellow wire goes to the fc on the air flow meter .. just connect that wire to your lexus SC ecu at the fc pin . Im not sure what connector it is on the sc ecu because i dont have the diagram for the sc .. I do know for the LS ecu its E11 #8 green and black wire.

Thats it its only one wire and the fuel pump is done . good luck.

I dont have the FC pin on my SC ecu. What's related with the fuel pump is FPC and DI. I got nothing from those pins.

Here's a link on Lextreme.com the sc400 92-95 ecu

Here's some updates. Truck is doing good. I still have the engine light on but i will take care of it soon. I must connect sub O2's to get rid of it. The fuel pump is still linked to the alternator and works like a charm. I should hook up a backup switch I case the alt die.

Here's some pictures of the front bumper I fab.

Looks like it got a little hot after running it at 5000 rpms all the way up that hill.

I know, it got hot even with a big e-fan. I was thinking about adding one or two lil fan as pusher. Might solve this problem during situation like that one. I don't think I will have the same situation every day tho. Maybe i'll invest in a winch instead. Hehe

nice swap man. from the way its looking i will be using my 3VZ flywheel as well. i was worried about it holding the power with having metal removed from where it bolts to the tlywheel will make it weaker. but after seeing that you have done it and yota 3.0 in his burn out vid where he just dumps the clutch i think it will hold up.
so ill just have to reread ur thread to note what i need to do . and you used the lexus mounts?

Thanks Shag! Using the 3vz flywheel is not a bad idea. Since you have one on the shelf, why not using it. If i had a bigger budget, i would have used a 5vz flywheel instead. 9.25 in VS 10 inches clutch. But anyway. I will strongly suggest to buy a higher clamp load clutch if you do this swap. And its probly going to be one from marlin.
http://www.marlincrawler.com/clutch/...ch-kit-2100-lb
This should be my next buy after a front diff cause i just blew mine :S

These are not lexus engine mounts. They were broken and they are 100$+ each. What i used are new and goes on ford 4.0 inline V6. They were 25$ each but does not fit perfectly. But its noting a man with is drill can't modified.

And yes, yota 3.0 burnout is realy sick. lol
