Well I must say the 3.4 is a good motor I have never droven one or been in one but my friend just got a 96, one year newer then mine. And its all bone stock and in a drag race she beat me by at least 10 truck lengths, and she cant drive to save her life and said she was sand bagging it. Obviously my truck has way more tire to push then some 29s but it was a very impressive display of power.

Thats what i was thinking it would cost if i had some else do it. I dont know why but i feed on the adreniline (spell check) of completing projects....and doing it well. would want to try and do it myself. Ok i am done--no more hijacking

Yes--i would contribute to someones deisel project if they got through the headaches and documented the process. Do a 1KD and i would probably even donate more.
Am i obessed or is it just me --would love to get 500miles a tank.......Maybe we could as the admin people that be to set something up and see if we have any takers......

so the whole engine swap thing is fine and handy..but honestly i agree with most people you can modify your 3.0 to do more..in fact one of the main reasons the 3.4 gets a better powerband and fuel efficency is because of its DOHC...but ive been looking into it..the 93=95 camry has the same v6 as the trucks(of course transverse but same block) but it has yamaha DOHC bringing total hp up to 185 hp..just 5 shy of the 3.4...doing this swap wouldnt be hard at all..heads, timing, and intake..thats all you would need to get the same kinda hp you'd need from a 3.4 and it sure costs a lot less, and is easier...i dunno if anyone has done this..but i wanna try..thats a rare toyota right there..
