Just did 3.4 swap curious about manual swapping

So I just finished my 3.4 swap in my 1992 4runner. It has the stock auto transmission and the 3.4 is from an auto. Wondering what it would take to manual swap this. What transmission would fit best? Should I get a 3rd gen or a 2nd gen manual?
