JDM Engine?

JDM Engine?
Greetings all,
I have been looking for a donor for 3.0 to 3.4 change, but have been unable to find one for either a reasonable price or lower mileage engine. Thus, I have again turned to researching JDM engines that seem to be plentiful. I remember that I had already asked, https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160...-rules-297222/, however, the current search yields contradicting information, e.g.:
Cconfirmation:
"with 'JDM' engines, you are just using the Long block. So just the heads with block. You reuse your intake manifold, exhaust, and all of your sensors/injectors/ harness/ ECU."
"Use YOUR CURRENT harness and ECM, YOUR CURRENT oil pan and pickup and YOU SHOULD BE FINE. Keep all your sensors just in case the JDM ones don't work properly."
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/s...ne-jdm-249288/
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/j...e-help-284910/
But then I found:
" I picked up a JDM and just about all the front accessories are different including belts, pulleys, exhaust manifolds and throttle body throttle cable hook ups." https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160...rences-294232/
"Yes you can replace your USDM motor with a JDM motor. You will need some parts off the USDM motor like the throttle body maybe some sensors ect, just swap over anythjng that is needed from your old motor"Yes you can replace your USDM motor with a JDM motor. You will need some parts off the USDM motor like the throttle body maybe some sensors ect, just swap over anythjng that is needed from your old motor. https://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-g...m-4runner.html
"Did you swap the injectors? The ones that came with my 2001 JDM Hiace engine were different from the 1996 4Runner engine. " https://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-g...swap-woes.html
And:
"So it seems that a post ‘99 engine would not get along with a pre ’99 ECU. But, the JDM engines are most always listed to fit ’96 to ’02 applications." https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/j...ectors-270261/
So, I was wondering if someone, who has used the JDM engine could comment, possibly with a year of the engine.
Kindest regards,
M

I got my JDM on ebay (I forget which store) for about $1200 last year if I remember right. It was guaranteed to have less than 65K miles on it and was basically turn key. Literally everything was on it, even the belts.
