Auto Donor Ok for My App?
I want to put a 3.4 in my '89 3.0 4runner. The '89 4runner has an auto trans, but I have an R151F trans ready to swap. I'm looking at a 2000 auto 4runner for an engine donor.
So I'd be converting my trans and engine at the same time with an engine from a 2nd gen 4runner that has an auto tranny. Any problem with that?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong..
You'll need the manual ECU from your year 3.4. Were you just going to use the automatic trans and had the matching ECU it would work, but because you want the manual, you'll need the manual ECU. Hopefully someone else can clean up what I tried saying..

Thanks for the links Mr. Duke. Here's Off Road Solutions' take on the matter.
This is a pisser because 90% of the donors out there seem to have auto trannys. I really need a Toyota wiring manual to sort this stuff out. I really miss the days when you could get one from Toyota for about $20.
If you are using a manual transmission, the 3.4L engine will need to come from a manual transmission vehicle. In SELECT year models we have found a difference in crankshaft machining from the factory. In these instances an engine from an automatic transmission application will not accept a pilot bearing. Another reason to purchase a manual transmission "package" is the difference in electronics. The engine ECU and the engine wiring harness are completely different from manual to auto. Based off experience, we recommend purchasing all the used parts from one manual transmission vehicle. Once again, purchasing all used parts from the same donor vehicle has been proven to prevent grouchy mood swings.

I think dndad did something where he got an auto to work with a manual, it might be worth searching for.
Oh in the future, you might want to consolidate all your questions in one post instead of creating a new post for each question.
