FLUID Exchange...

I've just recently purchased a 99 4Runner and would like to renew the fluids. Can anyone share what oils they have used? I'm pointing towards Redline products in the drive line and Transmission.

Furthermore the vehicle did not come with a manual so I need the required amount as well. Any links to information would be appreciated

Tranny
Diffs
Transfer Case
Engine

Thanks
FiLter

filter,
I have owned 2 4-runners and have used Mobile 1 in both. I can't speak about Redline because I have never used it. It is synthetic, so I imagine it would be a good oil too. As for the driveline and tranny, I use regular 80w 90 in the diffs and plain old DexronIII in the tranny. I guess that I could/should use synthetic oils in the tranny and diffs, but I cange them a lot. As for locating a manual, you may want to check ebay.

good luck

I'm using Mobil 1 (M1) everywhere. M1 10W30 in the engine, M1 ATF in the auto tranny, transfer case & power steering, M1 75W90 in both diffs. The next tube of grease I buy I'm getting M1 grease too. If they start selling M1 brake fluid I'll switch to that too.

Amsoil all the way. Sorry, I can't help on the amounts though, don't have the manual at hand.

I use Amsoil in everything. Go to Amsoil web site, click on online store. On right side of page click on product guide. Type in information and it will tell you all fluid capacities.
