driveshaft center bearing went out, i think. please help.

ok, so my driveshafts center bearing thing went out i believe, the driveshafts vibrates EXTREMELY bad driving down the road, and when you push up on the drive shaft it has quite a bit of play in it around that center point there, how hard is this to replace and how much am i looking at spending? is it rebuildiable and is there something that caused this to go out,

is there anything im overlooking here? like mabey it was something else that went out and it ruined that to or mabey that something else is wrong with it and i just think its the center bearing.

thanks for the help

The bearing ain't cheap. I replaced two of them at $180-200 (for just the part) before I went one-piece and never looked back. Not sure if that's an option in your case as I don't know what truck you have.

actually i just got home from being stranded in town, it was the rear u joint, when i looked at it, it was somewhat cocked and still felt like it was tight, but was really just jammed up, and that was causing the center bearing to look like it was bad for some reason, then today when i was driving it started making a horrific shaking and noise so i pulled over and looked and sure enough it was the rear joint, got a new one, started to press it on, and the cap exploded on one side so i couldnt go no further, i tried everything, but have boiled down to i have to cut it out, and repair the entire rear joing carrier thing, it sucks let me tell ya what.

oh well, i should have it finshed tommorw.

pos.

i didnt want to cough up the 20 bucks to get the front tires muddy and not make it any further!!!!

they did the pit backwards, it should have started off shallow, and let all the stock and mildly modded trucks dig it deeper for the higher more modified trucks. heck, when levi's rig only made it thru 1 side on 44's, while we were still in the stock class, theres a clue right there!

don't get me wrong, i had a blast watching the trucks get stuck, and you ALMOST get stuck, but the design wasn't the best.
