94 Toyota Idle Problem
When Truck Is Fully Warmed Up, Then Shut Off For 15-20 Minutes, When Restarted Very Low Idle, Shakes And Balks Until It Reaches 2000-2500 Rpms Then It Straightens Out. I Have Been To The Toyota Garage - Adjusted Tps, Fuel Pressure Is 35 Lbs, They Could Not Find Anything Wrong But Still Have The Problem --- Help Please!!! Truck Has 102,000 Miles Thanks Jo

I don't know, but you might want to follow this other thread I currently have going....
3.0 High Idle
It may point you into things you haven't looked at yet.
Does it seem to be running real rich when it is shaking and such?

I have the same problem but haven't had time to check it out.
I was thinking it might be my cold start injector - either not coming on when it should or coming on when it shouldn't.

My idle fluctuates from about 1200 to about 750. Got out the multimeter this afternoon and it looks like my Ox sensor is shot. Gonna do some more diagnosing tomorrow to make sure.

Marc -- Also I put on new plugs, wires, rotor & cap, fuel filter -- it is not running rich -- I started the truck, unhooked the injector wire and it still has the problem -- Thanks Jo

Have you checked your idle adjustment screw? I had that problem, i found that the little rubber gasket that goes right around the screw was cracked and was allowing the screw to slowly back out...just one more thing to check

I've heard many theories on this problem. The most plausable seems to be as follows: when it's warm outside, the engine doesn't cool off as quickly when parked. If it's restarted again before cooling, the idle speed is too low, but the vehicle runs (nearly) normal. The cause of this is the fuel sitting in the fuel rails on top of the engine. As the heat from the engine rises, the fuel tries to vaporize, but can't (completely) because it's under pressure. Once it is injected into the intake plenum and that pressure is gone, it vaporizes. The fuel is then drawn into the combustion chamber as a gas, instead of an atomized liquid, resulting in a poor burn. After a short while, new fuel has flowed into the fuel rails and the problem disappears.
Electric fans that run after the engine is shut off seem to help aleviate this problem, but often lead to dead batteries. Cold weather helps, too - another strike against global warming.

hmm.. seems plausible... only other 'wierd' scenario i have is.. i was driving it for about 6 minutes (started fine, ran fine) then i went up a really big hill (steepest in town) and when i hit the top after i pressed the clutch pedal in the idle dropped severely..

well, went down to my local toyota.. and all i can say is .. GREAT customer service time and time again. went down there and mentioned my problem and that i had just had the hg recall and timing belt done in february, service counter guy brought me into the shop to talk to their master tech, he walked out with me, popped my hood, and adjusted the idle.. didnt quite fix the problem, he brought out the timing light, was at 10, so he advanced it a bit, 12-13.. ran alot smoother, and feels like alot more go, idle now at a healthy 700-750. felt great, about 10 min later my idle jumped up to 1300, then down to 600.. and fluxuate between those 2.. when its up at 1300 i can kick it down to about 1000. guess i'll leave it like this for a lil while, see how it is on cold starts, then go back in and see what they do for me

OOOOOOOO I can't believe I didn't remember this earlier. I had this problem for quite some time. I took it to the dealership and here's what they found. After 3hours of the tech searching he discovered that the high idle was caused by the throttle cable being adjusted too tight. My idle would sometimes be 1500-2K rpms when I started it up. Then it would drop down to the regular level later on. Adjusting the cable cured the problem. You guys might want to look into this.
