1995 3.0 check engine light
hello,i just bought a 1995 ext cab pick up with 3.0 and it has only 40k on it.but today i was driving it and the check engine light started flashing on and off,and when it did the truck would lose power and hesitate.it would then go off and back on and so on......this all started when i went to start the truck and it took 3 times to get it going...any info on what the problem is would be appreciated..

i pulled the code from the diagnostic port and it is a code # 12
which reads in the off road.com tech article
-distributer circuit
-starter signal circuit
-igniter circuit
-ecu
any ideas on what these mean???
please help!!!

Maybe you should check the distributer, igniter, and ECU. If it starts the starter is probably ok.

i would check the main power leads & grounds to each one;
see whether or not the power steering pump is &/or has leaked before(it can leak down onto the starter & cause ya some serious problems:
i'd also grab the starter & wiggle the distributor to see whether or not they were tight;
you may just end up having to change the distributor, rotor, plugs & wires(a basic tune up).
