V6 Adapter plate comparison
Does anybody know the difference between the adapter plates from Marlin, Trail-Gear and Inchworm? and Do they all require conversion to top-shift?

Marlin sells Inchworm and only 23 spline.
TG is TG.
You need input shaft for 23 spline.
Top shift required or shift forks way too long.
I just did this on 95 4Runner thread.

What I dont get is if they have to be converted to top shift then why do the adapter plates have a slot in the top that looks like its for the forward shifter? Also the pics of the Marlin and Inchworm ones dont look the same. also Are any of them thinner/thicker?

Where you going to put the shifter on your tranny with a forward shift?
I can assure you the Marlin adapter I just used said "Inchworm" right on it.
You can't just make a random thickness as it has to fit together just so.

I also have a g52 that was mated to the rf1a...is there any way of using the shifting section from that on the r150 to avoid having to get an adapter?....or is that just an utterly ridiculous notion?!

I am thinking about it in the bubble above my head and the voices say no.
I've done the adapter on a 3.4L auto tranny to gear driven 4 cyl tcase and a 3.0 R150F behind a 3.4 swap to a gear driven 4 cyl tcase. I can't picture them sealing up properly without the adapter.
The 3.0 adapter is only for the manual tranny while the 3.4 adapter works on either, both adapt to 4 cyl gear driven
I just left my R150 tcase attached to mine on my 3.4 swap as it'll be a street queen.
