Keeping the auto trans

Keeping the auto trans
Any leads or links to builds that KEPT the auto trans during their 3.4 swaps? I’ve read the swap explanation on the ORS page, and seen the requirements using specific transmissions. However I’ve also came across threads here saying it doesn’t matter what transmission is being used and they all bolt up.
At this point I’m a little lost, and would just appreciate the help. Again, I’m just looking for builds that KEPT the automatic transmission.

To clarify, do you want to reuse the transmission that's in your truck? That's possible, but gets a little messy. You'll likely (note: I don't know for sure) have to swap bellhousing and torque converter. And you may need to wire in both ECUs. To give you a more detailed answer there, it'll matter what truck you're swapping the 3.4 into.
If you're going to bring the transmission that matches the 3.4 into your truck, that's much easier (and usually better, as most of the older autos were the A340H, which was notoriously overcomplicated). The only challenge comes with the transfer case. As most 3.4s have a driver's side front differential/tcase output. Only the T100s had a passenger side. You can retrofit that system with a smattering of other parts (tcase, adapter, trans and engine oil pans, etc.).
I heavily researched the 5VZFE/Auto swap when I was trying to decide what to do. But I pushed my chips in on 1UZ when I bought one just over a year ago, and deleted all my 5VZ links, so I can't give you anything like that. But my goal was to find a complete 3.4/Auto/4WD T100 donor, then I would just need to mess with shift linkage to convert from column to floor shift.
