i cant find any info or builds looking through the forums, does anyone know how easy it would be? right now i have an 86 regular cab pickup with the 22r, a 5 speed manual with 4x4, and about a 4-6 inch body lift.

if i had a chevy 305 and a 700r4 out of an 88 2wd pickup, how hard would it be to swap the engine, and would the 5 speed hold up to a 305 or would i need to put the 700r4 in as well?

also, are there any threads chronicling a build similar to this?

5sp should hold up to a mild 350, should handle the 305 just fine. IMO a 305 swap is the same as any other SBC swap. Not too many on here however it's still a SBC.

on a side note. 4-6" body lift? Didn't even know they made anything bigger then a 3" body lift.

the lift was custom made by the welder that i bought it from. he claimed 6" but i dont think its that much.
