Blew up the motor in my 92 pickup

I'm goin to be honest and tell yall that i'm new to all this, but two days ago i blew the motor up in my '92 tacoma 4x4. I need more horsepower but I dont want to cut and move everything out of the way to get the motor to fit.

I've thought about swaping it out with a 4.3 chevy V6, the 3.4 v6 or jus getting a crate 3.0.

All the help i can get would be great.

well its good that you admitted you were new because toyota didnt make a 92 tacoma. anyway if you have the 3.0 then i d suggest doing a 3.4 swap i havent done one yet but i guess there easy for the 3.0. you can also search on here or use google to find what you need.

the 4.3 is pretty easy from what i hear also. it my be hard to find though, it was for me. you can get motor mounts from NWOR or andvanced adapters. AA also has a swap kit for the 350 which is pretty much the same as the 4.3. good lluck

also check out phils runner build

aight man thanks. I always wanted to put a 350 in my other toyota but the front end wasn't long enough so i just left the 3.4 in it an rolled on till i totaled it. so now i got this truck from a friend and about 4 weeks later the water pump went out and it overheated and messed alot up. well i got to thinkin and with my tight budget i really dont know if i want to replace the whole motor or just replace the parts that are junk.

aight ive got an update i'm still not sure whats wrong with the motor its knockin like the rod and piston both are about to come out of the block

it overheated and that is what got me into this situation so we pulled it back to the house and figured out the water pump had went out so we replaced it along with the thermostat...started it up let it it warm and it was still overheating and it wont get over 30 mph so what im thinkin is the motor is done...

i am in serious need of anybody's advice on this...

lets not right it off yet, everybody knows the 3.0 of the early 90's was known for blowing head gaskets. Try this, 1st check your oil if it is milky then you blew the head gasket, specifically between the water jacket and the oil return lines, Second, open the cap to the radiator and start the truck- if you hear/feel the combustion or begin to see bubble immediately then you blew your head gasket between the cylinder walls and the water jacket. "The compression leaks into the water when the temp is low, then as the temp rises the steam will enter the cylinder, this will greatly reduce your power and give some smoke" This was so common the dealerships actually had a semi-recall where they would fix it for free when it blew if you qualified.
