3.slow spun bearing...straight swap or "?"
Ok...the saga so far. '95 runner (2nd gen) 3.slow, auto, bone stock. Was planning on doing an SAS, but spun a bearing on the crank a week ago. However this could be tabla rasa or mu.
Have access to an fj40 donor and am seriously concidering a full driveline swap (i.e. eng(2f), tran(4spd), t-case, shafts, springs and axels.) I have built Toyotas before, but I am a noob with the runner. I have the fab skills to make what I can't buy (and would rather make most of it from scratch). I have the imagination to find a different solution and the time to put it together.
1st: motor/tran combos w/an SAS. Advice? Warnings? Opinions?
2nd: Should I just scrap it and start over? (Keep in mind, the frame is dead solid and the body only shows the slightest surface rust).
3rd: is there anyone in S.E. Ohio that would like to help, spectate or laugh as this drama continues to unfold.
I welcome all input and look forward to hearing from this community.

Correct me if I'm wrong, wabbit, but with an auto trans, the 3.4 is not a dirrect swap. There seem to be hydraulic and electronic issues that are not easily solved.
3.4, SAS, done. (maybe not so much, eh?)

if you have the fab skills and the tools and materials IE: tubeing, plate metal ext...you can make it work, i dont know much about FJ's but i think their wider than pickups n runners, and the front end has a weird typ link setup with coils right? and they have straight 6's?? the axles would work just might have to do a custom 4 link setup front and rear, the sr8 6 i dunno if you could fit it, might have to cut the firewall?? start measuring!!!!!
