Who used a T100 pan on their SAS and who didn't

Who used a T100 pan on their SAS and who didn't

Posted this at Pirate as well but more opinions and experiences are always good.


Been reading for a year on doing a SAS on my 92 pickup that had a 3.0

Truck has been swapped to a 3.4 now using the 3.0 pan.

I read lots of instances of people saying that you have to swap the pan but then I read some that say they didn't and everything clears just fine.

So what is the verdict? This is one of the last pieces that I would need to start the cutting and an expense that I would rather not incur if I dont have to.

Will be running TG 4" HD springs and 33"s for now with 35's (maybe 37)if that matters.

I had to use the t100 pan for my swap. I'm not familiar with the 3.0 pan but if its a rear sump then you should be fine. The stock 3.4 IFS pan is a front sump and will get in the way of steering/center section of your diff.


Pictures are worth a 1000 words, so look at the last two pics in this post, it shows the front vs rear sump pan.

waskillywabbit - that 3.4 conversion looks badass - but, I looked through all your pics, in both parts, and never saw a picture of the oil pan and clearances. Do you have one of those floating around? Also, axle pushed forward at all? Thanks,

Front axle is 1.5-2" forward with high steer.
Truck gets wheeled on a regular basis and no oil pan issues.

Sorry but those are all the pics I got. No interference so we didn't take any pics of the steering.
