Wheel/Tire Setup on 1990 Pickup with 85 Solid Axle SAS
Currently I have 36x13.50r16 IROK's on 16" wheels, I believe 8" wide, unknown backspacing, I think the wheels are ProComp. The IROK's are pretty worn out, I am considering getting KO2's to replace the IROK's, because the truck is my winter daily driver, and snow and ice traction is important (I live in Chicago). The problem is that I will end up having to go with a narrower tire since 13.50" wide tires are rare outside of swampers. I am thinking of going with a 37x12.50r17 KO2, obviously I will need new wheels. The truck is on an 85 solid axle, with no spacers.
What I would like is to find out what other SAS wheel/tire setups are out there, to see what wheel width and backspacing will get me to my goal, which is to keep the current overall stance width of the truck (or wider if possible) with a 37x12.50r17 tire by getting the correct wheel width and backspacing.
EDIT: Measured the wheels, they are 16x8 4" backspacing. They are Pro Comp Xtreme Alloys 1069.
Here is a pic of the truck (next to the wife's daily driver,'15 4Runner Trail Premium that is now on 33" KO2's)
