Does anyone happen to know the torques settings for that inside bolt with the 7 on it??
The FSM doesnt have it or at least I can't find it. It is one of two that connect the hub housing to the rotor.

You are gonna love the SA when you are done.

know it has been awhile on the rapelling pics but I was stationed at Ft. Richardson for 4 years, I loved it up in Alaska. Spent a lot of time in Wainwright, even had a girlfriend at UAF...Best thing was a night jump in to Husky dropzone (fairbanks) in the middle of winter with a fully moon
Rapelling out of Helocopters was lot of fine too...until they lift up and you are out of rope and got 20 feet to the ground
If I didn't live here on the ocean I would live in Alaska. Someday maybe. I really like it there. That sounds awesome night jumping with the full moon!!!

Just snug them up good, they ain't coming off.

The FSM says 47 ft-lbs. It is under the "Brakes" BR section but not shown on the exploded diagram at the first of the section. You have to read a bit further down to where it talks about rotor replacement.

Looks like its coming along

I thaught you were going to have a shop down south do your swap and did you ever figure out what your going to do about the rear lift??

As for being on here I'm on here pretty often I just don't log in until I have something or someone to write to.

Is their anything good at Johns?

I go fairly often I just think the people there are a little shady like sometimes they charge to go in and sometimes they don't weird.

Now on to MORE PICS

PLEASE

There is a mandatory $2 charge to go into the yard at John's. There is the usual crap heap in there. A few Yotas. Only one SA, an 83 in terrible shape. Gary is a nice guy and I am pretty regular there so he gives me pretty good deals on stuff. As for the woman who works there I could use without her belittling me every time I ask about a part

Mike Specialty Repair is going to weld the front hanger in and mount it up. I really don't trust my welding to do the hanger and I think its better to be safe. I am getting better but not that good yet.

I am waiting on Marlins seals so I can finish. They will be here in the morning. I have a BBQ thing today up here at the Westhaven Center for the Arts so I had to stop the choping.
here are a few pics from today

made my own backing plate eliminator spacers. I cut out the center of the dust shield
also cut the brake line brackets out to weld on the SA

Sweet Jesus! Almost painted! One more coat and that is it
You gotta love my redneck shop- crappy porch chair for my axle stand and other crappy porch chair and 4" x 4" piece of scrap wood for my paint drying room!
Now that is hillbilly!!

Yeah I usually find Toyota goodies there I just haven't been in a while, the last time I was there they had a 2dr 2nd gen 4runner just hanging out. I'm not going to lie I was thinking body swap but the dude in glasses told me he would let the whole thing go for 1200.00 I just couldn't bring myself to spend that kinda chesse on cosmetics.

Good job on the backing plate eliminator looks factory. I cut mine a little different here is a pic

Yeah I also did the IFS hub conversion so that you can run without wheel spacers just so you don't have to constantly check the nuts on the spacer.

Here is a write up on pirate for all that are interested.
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...3Cbr+%2F%3Elts

The way I did mine is without the spacer and the calipers mounted on the inside of the mounting area. I had my caliper ears milled at a machine shop and bought new grade 8 bolts from fastnel.

all in all my brake setup cost 50.00 for materials and milling.

Derek Let me know if you need a hand with anything and if I have some free time I'll help out.

Similar to what I did. I tried to leave enough for the little brace thingy that gets bolted in with the caliper bolts, but one side is too out of whack to fit right so I may just cut the bottoms too next time they're off.

Well, in all honesty I live above the ocean in a small place with a dirt driveway. If I put anything outside it gets a fast patina job (rust.) Plus, I dont have a garage or a shop. You gotta do what you gotta do!
Endeavor to persevere!!!
And my cats like to watch
