I want to run stock shackles in the front to lower it a bit cause I can fit the 35's fine. Just a tad too tall. But I know the shorter the shackles the less flex...

I do get less flex. Sometime next week my 33's arrive in the mail. I am curious to see what my set up will do then.

Looking forward to seeing that, I have 33's and need to lower my SAS at least 2" being at the same height as yours would be sweet!

Again looking forward to see how yours looks and works with the 33's, you get 12.5's or 10.5's?

33 TSL SS radials 10.50 x 15... 8" wheel
I also ordered a new Rock Crawler wheel. Now I can pull the best 32 tire I have and put it on the new RC wheel for a spare. I have been using a STOCK rim and a 30 tire for the past year. Some jackass stole my spare RC rim and tire off my porch a while back
I will post up a few pics when I get it all set up.

I really like the direction that you took your truck. I have been brain storming ideas putting crossover steering on my 85 sa 4runner while keeping the lift low. Do you know the exact specs for your springs? Eye to eye length along arch, Front eye to center pin length, spring rate, leaf thickness, load rating, etc…. Also, after settling, roughly how much lift do you think you achieved with the OME springs and 5.5 inch shackle. It looks like 3 inchs from your pics.

Thanks

Chris

Thanks!!!
3" is about right overall. I could give you a round about answer on the specs but the best person to ask is MSR on here for the exact specs.

Any updates on how the front springs are holding up? I herd MSR was having problems with there springs breaking when they were flexed and he is now saying to use OME leafs from the 85 4runners.

I know its been a couple months on the thread but i had a quick question, when u said stock shackles on ur front are you referring to the stock shackles that came off a runner that had a stock solid front or are the stock off a rear?

You need the shackles off the front of a solid axle p/u or 4runner. The front are different than the rear. I was not able to find any stock ones other than the dealer ($300) so I ordered the OME ones for $120 there the same dimensions as stock but grease able.

My truck was not a rock crawler and I happily gave up a bit of flex for a much better setup all round. It still flexes 10X better than the IFS ever did and now I can wheel all year with out any broken idler arms or TRE's.

This is my feeling on it and you would need to see what toyospearo says to get his opinion.
