1990 Pickup SAS

So I got a new pickup, its a 1990 standard cab. Had a pretty good shake in the front end. Looked like it needed some new ball joints and tie-rods. So I decided since I have the time and most of the stuff I decided I would just do a SAS instead of wasting my money and time fixing up the IFS.

Pic the day I brought it home.

Started unbolting some stuff

After about 4hours of work with a sawzall, stupid torch was out of gas.

I actually decided to scrap the diesel project, to many customizations,I'm keeping this one 100% DD . Sold off alot of the pieces, alot of the money went into the new truck and some of the pieces are going into the SAS.

So I finished up grinding all the stuff off the frame. Ended up making a spring hangar since I'm cheap. Still waiting on the hysteer and frame tubes in the mail.

Well since Marlin Crawler decided to screw up yet another one of my orders, I am still waiting on my frame tubes so I can finish up the SAS.

I had to many projects piling up so I cut my losses and sold the yellow first gen. Yeah I'm looking to sell the lift kit, just got done taking it all apart today. I was real careful not to damage any of the lift stuff, so its all in good shape.

Not sure yet, but I'm thinking since I'm cheap I'll just run the 32" that are on there for ahwile.

Finally got the frame tubes late today.

Shackle angle looks about right. I've found that if it sits too far back, it will rub on the frame where it gets narrower.
She gonna be tall huh?

Oh i might also suggest that you add some gussets to the hanger. Maybe i'm just a little paranoid but here's how i did mine

Yeah, I'm somewhat disappointed with how tall it turned out. I guess I could french the front hangar and cut the shackles down to drop a few inches. Yeah thats a good idea for gussets I'll have to steal it.
