The day after Big Bear I was backing up a hill in a dirt parking lot and got wheel spin on JUST my rear passenger. It's also not acting like it usually does on the street... chirping, clicking etc. I'll have to tear it down on my next day off.
Wish me luck.

i've never heard of a detroit doing that even under extreme conditions..... my guess is the axle, but if you busted that you had to be doing something nutty... you've seen the size of those axles...... i'm seriously wondering what it could be? are you sure you broke something the easiest way is to put the rear on jackstands and rotate the wheels both wheels should turn together if no then you got something wrong, but the 5 min jackstand checkup could at least give you a quick idea

I was about to do that the other night but my brother is using all our jackstands to work on his 3KGT. I sure hope its an axle, and yea I could see it happeneing after wheeling BB. Maybe its the splines?

Just so you guys know there is a District 38 hare scramble for bikes and quads that Sun. 9am-@1 pm
I believe we are running around the backside of superstition from PC 4 times (25 miles x 4=100 miles race) I'm just guessing though as we never really know where the course is gonna go.
I'll be out there saturday so maybe i'll take a drive over and check out some rigs.
Mike

Allright, just filled out the registration form and included my *free* admission certificate.
Now I just gotta figure out this 3rd member crap by the 13th. It never ends, does it?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot you sounded liek a frog last year. Awesome first impression, Josh.
Yeah, you can pay there but it is 5.00 more.
Just a reminder also, it is in everyone's best interest to show up somewhat early to sign up for runs. I remember some of them filling up pretty quick last year.

i'm probably going to make this run. i'm located near orange county, so i probably have sort of a long drive so let me make sure i have enough gas money and whatnot. i'm stoked. thanks for the invite, seth.
this will be my first time wheeling in my new rig and i think this is the first time my rig has ever seen dirt. i don't know where my rig has been it's whole life.... but i'm almost certain it's never been wheeled. no visible undercarriage scratches etc... and the framerails were even shiny!!! heck, it's got 114,000 miles on it and still looks like new! but it's time to iniate it.... so this will be an important run for me!!!!!!!!!
i'll be going with the easy group. this is my first time wheeling in an entirely new rig and i need to get used to the different handling characteristics offroad. and besides....... i'm not out to prove anything, i just want to have fun and i'll be alot happier if me and my truck come home in one piece. i already rolled my last truck from being just plain stupid. i learned the hard way.
anyway, enough babble. (i talk too much). i'm stoked and ready to hit the trails again. i'll let you dudes know for sure probably sometime tomorrow for sure. just need to see exactly how far the drive is.
merry christmas to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :xmas13:

I would love to go. Is it cool to bring off road toys? i.e. bikes, quads, 3wheelers
Does anyone have a line on a VW block? That would be cool. I have never seen metal burn out of control....except my welding. Does that count?

I think superstition is probably a safer environment than glamis/ocotillo for bikes and toys. There aren't as many prerunners bombing around stupidly. Especially when the SD4wheelers are out there, it is mostly slow jeeps and the maturity level is pretty high.
Last year I got to watch a golf cart do some rockcrawling, pretty funny. Then Mikey was jumping berms on the back of another golf cart....priceless.
