Fall Colors run 11 9 2002 pics ((UPDATE))
I don't have time to make a webpage until Monday.
UPDATE, page is now made.
See URL below:
Tons of pics & vids.
47 pics, 39 vids.
Some vids were shot at a higher setting, and will play back full screen.
http://www.pnw4runners.net/runs/11_9_02/11_09_2002.htm
We had a group of Toyota's and Nissan's today.
So it was a "Toysan" event today
Here is the list:
Bill & Toni - '85 Toyota truck (Wrongway)
Corey - '91 4Runner
Dale & Amy - SAS'd & rear leafed '94 4Runner (upndair)
Lawrence & Richele - '93 Pathfinder
Jim & Judy - '94 Pathfinder
Jim & Trudie - '89 Toyota truck (Mytruck)
Jon - '97 4Runner (TooEZgoin)
Mike - '97 4Runner (Smr4runner)
Rob - '01 Tacoma (WATRD)
Scott & Janice - '91 Toyota truck (Scott.475)
Todd & Tristan - '88 4Runner (Toddski)
What a day! We got up to about 5,000' and hit some snow.
That was fun.
We ran the forest service road route 72 down to road 70.
Once we got down to the gravel pit, the fun began.
There are some steep hills in there than digicams can not do justice to.
Pay attention to vids 10, 11, & 12.
They are of Bill & Jim (Pathfinder) catching air coming up this one steep hill.
I could not pan the camera fast enough, but both rigs had all 4 tires off the ground at one point.
A little later Jim was going up a hill, and when he landed, he shot off to the side and started to roll sideways down a hill.
A tree stopped his fall.
If the tree had not been there, he could have easily flipped the rig several times.
Scott hooked up and with Rob guiding him, they were able to get the Pathfinder unstuck.
His axles were buried, and the dirt was clear upto the doors too.
They had to dig him out.
He did suffer some damage to the right front fender, and grill guard.
All in all, it was a great time up there.

Yes, he is very lucky that tree was there to keep him from going over more.
He got some good air there didn't he?
Good catch Mike.

I have some pics, although they're not really good quality. I've not yet learned how to use the digital video cam. I caputured some stills from the video, but it's grainy and and wierd shaped.
I'll need some help from one of you digital cam experts one of these days...

I haven't figured out hyperlinks for this board yet either, but here's a link to my ftp site. You can probably figure out the rest.
BTW, if anyone needs ftp or web space. let me know.

Had a blast today with you guys!
Air Nissan Central (MR JIM DOT NET) Mr Jim
Hi everyone!
Thanks for letting us tag along with you today. I must admit that I have a problem with "Not knowing when to quit". It is all good though. Someone had to provide a little carnage to talk about for you all. It could have been worse, I could have been driving Judy's Pathfinder Anyway, I had a blast and although Judy did a little griping in front of you all, she thought it was exciting. She found the videos on the Web before I did. I will be posting some videos and photos on www.mrjim.net tonight. You are a great group and I appreciate the help when I made that, uh wrong turn today. Hopefully, I did not make a bad impression. I was listening to the video that my wife shot when someone said, "That guy is psycho" and that was before anything even happened. Funny. I thought that was my little secret. Guess not. Had fun. Thanks again...

Jim, no bad impression with this group. It was fun to have you all along.
EVERYONE gets stuck and has to be pulled out, I know I have, thats why people carry the winch to begin with. Its good to know that you can push it to the limit and that there is help from your fellow 4 Wheelers.
Next trip are you planning on serving any in-flight meals?? I bet your wife loves flying first class.
WATRD- Excellent the way you put everything together on the vid!

Hey everyone,
Had a good time today. It was nice meeting all of you. It was quite the entertaining day.
Jim and Bill. My hats off to you. You are by far the craziest guys I've ridden with. No bad impressions here Jim.
Could you all imagine what these two guys would do if they were lifted, regeared, locked, and running 35's. I wouldn't miss it for the world. he he

Hey Jim, it was great having you along today.
Had a lot of fun up there today.
Glad you are OK, and your rig can be fixed.
Rob, that is pretty cool how you mixed the vids together and then added a few stills to it too.
If you and Mike don't mind, I'll add those to the lineup when I work on putting the page together.
I was almost dozin' on the drive back home.
I was beat from watching all the action today
We have played at the pit before, but nothing like this
It's also fun in that same area from January to March.
Plenty of snow at the pit to play in.
