Alright Lance! Good to hear you're going. I'm voting for this Sun Mar. 9 Just in case you didn't see my post on 4x4wire. At least one of my friends is coming w/a Tacoma. Me and him hit a few trails in InkoPah at night, lots of fun! I'm also interested in checking out the north side of 8, see if it's do-able. What time are we meeting?

sunday it is! marc, as far as leading, i know how to get to the trailhead, but after that, might as well be someone with more experience. i can still count my off road trips on my fingers.
it sounds like if we get an early start, we should be able to do both the south side, and the north side of the I8.
it might be more convenient (especially for me, i live in alpine), to meet at the carl's jr. at TAVERN ROAD exit in alpine. there is gas, air, food, atm, anything you might need at the last minute in case you forget something.
for anyone coming from out of town, to get to tavern road (or pine valley), take either I15, I805, or I5 south, then go east on I8 past el cajon, then on to alpine (or pine valley).
What about the time? is 8:00 too early? i know that people might be coming from a ways away.
should be fun!

OK, here it is...
When: Sunday, march 9th, 8:00 a.m.
Where: meet at carl's jr. parking lot. take I8 east to tavern road exit, carl's jr. is right along side the freeway accross from the offramp.
destination: in-ko-pah, at in-ko-pah freeway exit, off of I8 just east of jacumba.
trails: start off of the south side of I8 up the mtn., then if there is time, we could go to the north side of the freeway (the windy hairpin trail) or vice versa.
it sounded like sunday was going to work out for everyone, and i figured 8:00 isn't too early, but if there are any conflicts or suggestions, let me know.
marc p: i don't have a map of this area yet, i was going to go to the ranger stn in alpine to see if they have any of their blm maps or usgs maps. i don't think it is very open like anza borrego, once you're on the trail, i think that's it from talking to people, not too many places to stray. i'll also have my gps.
how is everone with this?????????????????
