I & son are meeting Jim at his home at 4:30 am, then we will head to Safeway in Enumclaw.
This is not your normal type run
It's mainly to get some sunrise mountain pics before the crappy weather starts in.
If anyone is still game, we want to leave Safeway no later than 5:10, as we have to get parked up at that one spot and get setup for the sunrise.

I'll see if I can make it that early; I'd kind of written it off, but want to get out. I think my CB works now, so I'd like to see if it really does. I really want to try my latest navigation setup too.

Let's Ride!
Hope you make it, Alan. And, I hope the mountain is not hidden by clouds. Only one way to find out...be there at sun-up! No sleeping in allowed
If you come up a little bit later, we'll be monitoring channel 4. We will be on SR 72.

Truck is all packed, and my backpacking Gaz lantern is too.
That thing is really cool. Fits in a little plastic case, and runs on the butane/propane mix tanks.
I'll set that on the tailgate. Heck, if I had more time, I would have got some presto logs, and we can have a fire in the pit up there at that one spot.
Alan, if you come up later, you go a few miles past the Forest Road 70 exit.
Take 72, which is also on the left. It's an 18 mile loop which eventualy brings you into that gravel place where Jim & I were climbing some hills from the last run up there.
I plan on eating when we park.

Corey,
Thanks for the info.
I'm working on the maps for my navigation right now.
Guess I better get out and gas up too, before the station closes.
I've got my camera gear about ready too.
Alan

Arghhhhhhhhhh
I feel really bad not being able to make it. I had everything packed too.
Ever have an insomnia attack?
Well last night was the night.
All I did was toss & turn and stare at the clock.
I'd say I finally fell alseep close to 5 am, but I'm up already.
Weird.
Definitaly not safe to have gone for a drive in the hills this morning.

I get that alot but I think thats mainly due to working a third shift job. I'll lay in bed for hours at a time and then just give up. I found that those non-adictive sleeping pills from walmart help alot. But I've also stayed up after taking them.

I have had a lot on my mind lately, and I think it all just escalated last night.
I'd say on average, this only happens to me every few years or so, if that.
I normally fall asleep in 30 minutes, or less.
Very light sleeper. I have to wear ear plugs too from the few places that like to party all night.
The sound carries at night around here.
Oh well. I think I have made my mind up already to go up next weekend around 7 or 8 in the morning.
Gotta get out and get some fresh air.

I know what you mean with the whole, lots on the mind. When I heard that tattering from my engine, I was rolling around thinking about the timing chain. Finally I just gave up went out there and checked everything making sure it was all fine. Then talked with my Dad about it and came up with a solution... I still haven't went to sleep since last night around 9pm when I got up to goto work.
