The AV--careful of those meth labs out there!!!!! Nah just kidding but i used to live out there in Rosamond and thought it was great to just go driving/wheeling in the desert.

I know, old thread. This forum has just one single page of posts and it goes back to '03....guess Dec '08 isn't that long ago by comparison.
Anyway, I'm from the A.V., but my stock '94 2wd is hardly suited to offroading. I do have the option of borrowing a 1970 FJ40 or '93 Explorer Sport, though. I tend to do more riding on dirt with my Honda XR600 than driving.

It's actually doing alright. I got a hell of a deal on my house. The base is full of contractors now so a lot of people are living in Rosamond and Cal City now. But if I wasnt working on the base, I wouldnt have bought out here. I would have stayed in Palmdale or Lancaster.
