WHY are they doing this to me? NJ laws suck
its almost impossible to even go wheelin in NJ now. New laws were passed against ATVs/Bikes/4wheelers in ALL local state forests. If your caught in there, you can get a $500 fine, impoundment of vehicle, have to pay for towing and pay upto a $200 fine to the state forest..not to mention POSSIBLE 2 year suspension of lisence depending on severity of fine. WHAT THE HECK!? Its almost not even worth having a 4wheel truck. I'm gonna be freaked out a my mind to even pop it in 4wd now. I can;t afford any of those fines, and its just ridiculous. Anybody else from Jersey worried? Why drive a lifted truck, if we can;t use them

Well, that really bites. If it was me, I would buy a set of A/T's and drive the truck like that. I love my truck too much to get rid of it just because I can't wheel.

I'm very sorry to hear this.
I feel bad for you.
I hope that those who feel tread lightly is a waste of time will benefit from this knowledge. It's a real problem.

You take a ferry at horshoe bay and go up the through seashelt and then another ferry to powell river. If you didn't have to take a ferry and could drive it would only be like 2 hours away. If you ever get the chance to come up here do it. There are enough trails to to keep you busy for the rest of your life. There is a guy in town that builds trails, thats all he does, he is a legend here. Oh and sorry about the thread jack, i feel sorry for you and your rig, i would go insane, i crave 4x4ing, every day of the week, thats why i go out at night after work in the dark and bad things happen like when i crash and roll my truck.
Whatever you do, dont sell your truck man, i wanted to sell my runner a while back and i could have gotten more than i wanted for it but after all the work and time i have spent it was impossible. Keep it and just wait untill you move to another state

I know Jay..but what can I use it for? I cant camp in Nj,I cant go 4wheeling in NJ..and with college and work time is hard to find. meaning, its hard to drive 3 hours to go wheeling, and drive 3 hours home. I LOVE my truck...but Im at th epoint where im not seeing the point of owning it, if I cant wheel it and use it for what i built it for.

Yup - time to move, although we don't have any cushy NFL jobs though up here in BC. But you'll have thousands and thousands of miles of all sorts of trails - from class 1 easy logging roads to the extreme and nearly impossible.
Plus, you could get your dog sled license too if you move up here!

!!! dogsled licence
Well, I don't think we can really offer any more help, sad to say. Law's the law, I hope you keep the truck but I guess you have to do what you have to do.
Start a petiton, get TONS of signatures, try to get a 4x4 park or somthing. Its a start right? Or get all the 4x4 guys to pitch in, buy a plot of land, and make your own wheeling area.
