1993 T100 automatic trans same/compatible as 95 up for 3.4 swap?
Alright,I am planning on swapping in a 3.4 liter into my 93 T100, but my issue arises with the transmission (my truck obviously has the 3.0 liter). After doing some quite extensive research on this subject I have learned the manuals bolt up just fine, but the auto transmissions need to be swapped. This is at least what I read about concerning the 4runners and the compacts, but I seen somewhere else that the T100 automatic transmission is different.
My question is therefore, did the T100 have a unique transmission that made it compatible with the later produced 3.4 liter engine?
Any help some Toyota experts can give me would be greatly appreciated....

Well I am buying a 3.4 and going ahead with it. I'll let everyone know how it goes...
I got the ECU and wiring harness as well...
I was communicating with someone with a 1996 T100 and his has the exact same designation as mine... This is good news.

good luck. post some pictures if u can. I am thinking about future swap ideas for my T100. in college now so can't afford it but maybe later. don't know about the bolt patterns on the trans though.

The T100 was equipped with the rare passenger side drop A340F (while 3.0's in 4Runners/trucks came with the A340H). I'm not certain of the reasoning, but I wouldn't assume the 96+ T100 has the same trans even though it has the same designation. I thought the reasoning for using a trans from behind the 3.4 was a wiring issue.
The good news is that with the A340F, you can easily add a crawler (before I'm corrected - yes I know Inchworm has a kit for the A340H, but it requires dismantling the trans/t-case)

You can use a Marlin adapter and gear drive case behind any A340F. The adapter is for an auto to gear drive case - or you could go bananas and get a double too...
