Wiring for my Yellow Top
I've been searching on here and it seems that everybody runs 2 gauge for their battery cables.
I took my rig to a car audio shop today and they said they only carried 8 gauge, 4 gauge and 1/0 gauge...no 2 gauge. Is 4 gauge enough for the new cables, I figure if I'm getting it done I want to get it done right.
I guess there is really no downside to the 1/0 gauge other than that its MASSIVE, but I mean...I'd rather have too much capactiy than too little.
What do ya'll think, should I get a hold of some 2 gauge wire and go back to them or go with the 1/0 gauge or will 4 gauge be OK?
Thanks!
Fink

Yeah, my buddy is who owns the shop. I found some pretty nice terminals on CarDomain.com that take 1/0 I'm not sure the place I went had any...but I didn't look. I'll call them tomorrow to check, if they don't I might order some of these:

I think this might be the way to go, just piece of mind knowing that I got it done right. What gauges did you use for the ground and charging wire?
Thanks man, could you post a pic of your setup when you get the chance?
Thanks Eric!

I have to clean my engine bay, but I can get you some pics of my setup. Very stealth and a constant work in progress (like everything else)
I am about to do a fiberglass enclosure over the driver's side rear wheel well with an Infinity variable Q 12"

As of now I am going with 1/0 gauge...they've got some pretty sweet terminals at the place I'm going to...although they've got a sweet digital gauge on cardomain.com, lol, bling bling.
What gauge should they use on the charging wire and wire going to the fuse box? 4 gauge maybe?
Thanks,
Fink

I used 1/0 for my dual batteries and what not:

Get it at a welding shop, usually less than half the price you pay at a "car" place.
