Optima battery locating tip

I will be adding a 2nd battery to the FJ Cruiser soon.
Spent part of yesterday trying to find one local, and member KD7NAC_07FJ pointed me a Google search.

Average price is around $170 for the Optima D34/78 which has the top and side terminals.

I called my local tire shop that can get them, but they quoted me about $240, OUCH!

I thought I would give Cartoys a call since they deal with Optimas too in their installs for customers.
$170.99, not to shabby 'eh?

Picked mine up earlier this morning, what a piece of work they are.
Very heavy duty, and they look very business like.

So if you have a Cartoys near you, check them out, this is a good deal on this type of battery.

So what location did you decide upon for the Optima?

There are 2 Cartoys here in the Spokane area.

I am using the same tray that Wayne and Chewey are using.
I still need to find out from Wayne (multitasking here, sending him a PM while posting this) what Painless Wiring kit to pickup.

I really hate pulling apart dashes, even more so on new rigs.
Cartoys told me to come back after I pick up a solenoid, and they can do the wiring for me to have switchable batteries if I want it setup like Wayne's.

That is a good price.

I have procrastinated and have not signed back up yet for both Costco and Sam's Club after getting rehired back to Boeing almost two years ago

I really do need to sign up again.

Sears use to carry them, but now they sell their Platinum brand, but it will not fit this tray, as it is customized for the Optima.

Painless does not sell direct to the public.
Jegs is a reseller of their products, and they have the dual battery kit in stock for $112.99
