no horn
i'm having trouble with my horn, or lack thereof.
all the wheel mounted radio controls work and i've checked ALL the fuses.
Anyone tell me how to get the center cover off of an 2003 4Runner steering wheel. i dont want to damage the airbag.

did you check the horns themselves? apply 12v to it to see if it honks.
IIRC, the horn wire is green-black under the column in the harness. You may be able to inspect/test this without removing the horn pad.
To remove the steering wheel horn pad:
1. remove key from ignition
2. disconnect battery negative terminal.
3. wait 90 seconds MINIMUM
4. remove 4 torx screws in side of steering wheel that hold horn pad in place. The screws are behind small plastic trim covers.
5. with screws fully undone, they will 'click' into a little holder, and allow the horn pad to jiggle out.
6. disconnect the airbag connectors. They're double-lock type: undo the center locking tab, then unplug.
7. put the airbag assembly pad side up (metal side down) in a safe place. NOT IN YOUR LAP.
