Headlight Range/Dimming

So my headlights have always been kind of short range and somewhat dim.

I'm wondering if the range of my headlights should be attributed to the headlight design in its entirety or just the bulb dying out?

Because they work fine for general usage, but when I'm taking an offramp and theres a turn 30 feet ahead, I'm forced to use my brights if its too dark out.

Thoughts?

4Crawlers upraded headlight harness, Hella E-Codes or Autopal housings, and then some higher wattage bulbs. I did it and it was an amazing difference.
