Gday mate, I've had the same sort of problems, ie battery not charging, swapped out 2 alternators and batteries etc. Just wanted to know which fuse it was and where it was at all pls? I have an eb 91 falcon and realise that fuse will be in a different area but any information would help me out a whole lot. Many thanks in advance, donnieboy. Cheers.

Alternator troubleshooting needs to be posted on threads specific to the model-year-ENGINE. Each model-year-engine may have same concepts and alternator pin-outs: Ig, Sense, L (fault), B (alt to batt wire)
However, schematics vary. For 22RE-liable, here's how charging system works:

Hey, sorry its been a good few years since i had to tackle this issue, so my memory is a little hazzy. What i do remember is that I was not able to pinpoint a specific fuse that caused the issue. I gather the issue was a loose connection at the back of the fuse box (in my case the box behind the drivers side kick panel). In unbolting the box and reinstalling it the faulty connection must have remedied itself. Sorry i dont have anymore information regarding it. Best of luck, i know how frustrating it can be.

Not charging with good alternator
Hi guys.
My battery isn't charging. I assumed it was the alternator but I pulled it and had it tested. It tested fine. Just to be on the safe side I bought a new alternator anyways.
I installed the new alternator and it doesn't seem to be working.
I'm testing at the battery and get 12.5v with the truck off. I turn the truck on expecting 14.5v, but it stays right around 12.5.
This is a 1990 Hilux, 22re 4cyl., the voltage regulator is in the alternator (i think) so that shouldn't be the problem.
I started to check all the basic connections and they look good. So I don't know. Thats why I'm here.
Any help please?

I know its not the same vehicle but I
had the same problem on a 2003 toyota corolla.
Are your guages on the dash working. This
vehicle they were not. Found thr fuse for thr
guages was blown. Replaced fist and tge
alternator started pitting out just over 14 volts.
Hope its as easy as that.
