Spark Plugs what's best?
Spark plugs
Ok! so we can get Spark Plugs that cost from 79 cents to $10 bucks each. Anyone have any experience or data that proves one type is better then another. I got a 22R, thinking about them fancy E3.46 plugs $6 bucks each?

I don't have any data but I use NGK and many people on this forum do also. If you want to spend $$$ on spark plugs just so you can say you have fancy plugs then go for it, but I'm positive you will see no improvement over a factory plug.

NGK's ?
OK NGK IRIDIUM $7.85ea, PLATINUM'S $3.15ea or V-Power or traditional plugs $2.40ea ???

Cheap standard plugs.
On a old 22R you don't need anything fancy. It's not pushing enough spark to worry about getting Iridium and those Platnium plugs are a little more than a marketing ploy.
It's nothing special, the plugs aren't going to make any difference.

I took some advice from you guys. Just installed NGK GP Platinum’s BPR5EGP Replacing the Champions. Frankly I didn’t expect any significant difference, after all their just spark plugs. Wrong! First off the Champions I removed were in excellent shape they only have about 2k on them they were installed by the shop that I had the heads rebuilt at. The idle smoothed out immediately and it feels like I have more power but then again when I was a kid I always thought I ran faster with a new pair of Keds. We’ll see what happens.

I had a buddy with a 87 4-runner that had a rough idle with champion spark plugs and was fixed by switching to NGK's. I dont know why but the yota motors dont take kindly to champion plugs.

The factory manual states that you need two prong plugs, not single. I always get OEM. Platinum does nothing for our trucks and could even hurt performance. Get the correct twin prong plugs in there and change them out every 30-50k (I let mine go 50k).

NGK V-Power, have always had great luck with these in my Toyotas, Also run these in the extended tip version for my small block Chevys, I also run these in all of my Chainsaws, Great Spark Plugs !!!
