i carry a small survival kit. including your standard stuff; emergency blanket, lighter, matches, needle, thread, sterno, parachute cord, fishing hooks, scalpel, anti-diarrheal, iodine tabs, a 6 inch cold steel knife, swiss army, and SOG tool. I usually carry it year round, but am sure to carry it in winter. we don't get a lot of ice, or snow, in NC, so no need for shovel, or anything of that nature
edit: bear grylls doesn't have $%%$ on me, hahahaha. j/k

I carry several things all year 'round, but the only extra thing in winter is a packable rain jacket, a wool or fleece blanket, an extra heavy jacket, and a plug in coffee heater.
Always..
1st aid kit:
1) Cayenne pepper- stops a heart attack in 3min.
- increases blood flow to the heart and extremeties
- stops internal and external bleeding
2) Colloidal silver- indefinite shelf life
- kills over 700 known bacteria, viruses, pathnogens
- effective against food poisoning and water contamination
- effective against chemtrails
3) DMSO- neutralizes pain and immediate affects of physical traumas
- catalyst for ointments and topical pain relief solutions
4) H2O2- sterilization
5) snake bite kit
6) Bandaging
7) Aspirin
8) Super glue
9) Needle and thread- for stitching clothes or people
10) Flashlight
Tow rope
Jack and wheel block
Cell Phone
Auto lub and fluid
Rags
Spare tire
Air compressor
Fire extinguisher
Small tool kit
Pet food- gotta feed them hungry wanderers
