smokers smell removal??
#3
make sure you run the heat and A/C smoke get in there too. And I would hate to see you get the smoke out and then flip on the heat - A/C and its all back.
Clean the carpets and seats real good. Clean the windows, and like said above febreeze like crazy.

This is what needs to be done. Pull all of the seats out (easy to do). Rent a shampoo vac and go at it on the seats and carpet. Then, I don't know where this is available, but I know that at my local BMW dealership, they have a spray bomb that you leave inside of your car that hooks to the vent system, and you leave it on overnight. Got rid of the smell. The shampoo vac'ing the seats and carpet made the biggest difference.

I bought my previous 2 vehicles from smokers. I got the smoke smell out pretty quickly.
As soon as I bought my toyota truck, I cleaned it really good. I used windex on every plastic surface inside the car, and on the carpet I used carpet cleaner and a vacuum. I also went out and bought one of those cheezey tree air fresheners. When I parked the vehicle, I left the windows halfway down.
With all this, the smell was gone in about a week. But you really have the be vigilant and aggressive with the scrubbing.

Carpet-shampoo anything fabric and wipe down anything that is not.
Maybe a fabreeze or $0.05 air freshener for effect, but clean first.

The truck I bought from a smoker I never really got the smell out but I did a good job to the point where I could only notice it on really hot days and then it was very faint.
What I did was take off ever panel in the truck I could. I had this thing stripped down to just the dash and I even took some of that apart. I cleaned all the dust and dirt off of every thing I could reach and anything that was fabric got a good coating of febreze. I was very vigilant and tried to get as much of the truck as I could reach. It isn't fun but it did a good job!
