Did you re-gear as well?
e-locker from family member's wrecked T4R
New Yukon 4:88 R & P plus entire front chunk with 4:88's and a Detroit locker for $350
Friend doing the install for a case of beer. I'll do the wiring.

Another cheap mod I did.
I had a Toyota Electric Locking 3rd Member installed. It's from a 2009 Toyota FJ. I found it on Craigslist for only $50 bucks! Yes it fits. Had my gears swapped in. You just need to have two bolts holes moved and pound out the rear housing a bit. Best mod I ever did on my truck!
Now, it's like I don't even need 4x4 anymore! Cost me $600 bucks to have it installed and wired up though. But well worth it! These electric locking third members cost over $1,200 bucks new!
I have a thread on this somewhere here, under my screen name. On how to do it.
And I found this great locker switch that fits my dash perfect online for only $12 bucks! Looks factory!

I took that pic as soon as I brought my 4Runner home that very night. I was worried about how wet it was. Turns out, yes it was leaking!
So the next day I took it back to the shop. And he replaced the gasket and took care of the leaking problem. No charge. It's been fine ever since.

A anti theft precaution...
I welded a link onto my 2.28 shifter . When I am in reverse , and with my 2.28 case engaged , I can lock the shifters together ...
no single anti theft measure if foolproof , but add this to the other theft precautions , and hopefully the truck is a little safer .

Main power wire
At first it didn't start out as a mod but by far one of the bestest-cheapest mods I ever did was upgrading the main power wire on my 3.0
Not only did it fix my original problem, it made everything electrical operate better and honest to goodness the thing seems to run much better.
Best 10 bucks I ever spent on the 4Runner

used the camry mounting bracket in the rear and welded it to where the original console mounted
center console out of a 2000 camry. cupholders up front and in rear now, also where the camry parking brake was I hot glued some abs in there and used a dremel to cut holes for the switches and added an accessory outlet

Howdy! First time posting, so hopefully I get these pics done right. I'm not a fan of component speakers and I didn't have enough room to mount my 6.5"s flush in the doors. So with some MDF, a jig saw, some self-tapping screws, and some electrical tape to finish, I fabbed up these door mounts.

Damn that's metal haha I like it. I want a really cool one for the 4wd shifter now. Not one that you can buy (no offense) but I want one made out of something awesome and unique.

The cheapest modification that I had was installing a used rear backup camera on my truck. Watched a YouTube video to guide me on the installation and it was a success.

Replaced broken rear seat release(2nd gen) with a $3 replacement door lock pin from vatozone. The connecting rod was broken inside the seat with about 1/4" of threads remaining, nothing a healthy amount of two-part epoxy didnt take care of
