i dont use the ac either but ive been toying with using the compressor for air for a while...anyone done this? i work as a diesel mechanic for big rigs so tons of extra air tanks lying around
tool box lights are my favorite mod. cut out slots in the latch housing on the lid and wired lights through the bed. got a cut switch in the cab but gonna use the pressure switch that came with the security system that the last guy has on it... guess no one informed him that the only person that would EVER consider wanting that truck would be toyota owners that have more self respect than that.

Wasn't sure if I'd posted this...... But for 30$ or so for all 5 LED's up front(Dome, both doors, 2 SR5 Maplights and a cargo light)...... it was a VERY AWESOME cheap mod that I've already found come in handy a number of times.......
I will be changing to these in the back in new panels with a built-in, turning my panel and inner panel into a sub enclosure, etc., etc. >>>
They hold 36mm festoons which have WAY more options, and they also have the "On/Off/Door" feature in a 3 wire set up(as they don't ground to the roof)... They're the 2nd Gen Rear Dome lights that I'll be using in the panels.
I've already mounted this light in the dome(2nd Gen Dome light)... About to wire it in to the rear gate latch mechanism, so it and the 2nd Gen dome Cargo Domes in the panels will light up when the gate is opened(thanks to Bryan89 of iH8mud and here as well ).......
All three of those new lights were Pick-Your-Part .... and cheap on 50% off day. Maybe 2.99$?

24$ worth of LED light you see right here(gotta say, superbrightleds.com is fantastic to deal with.... and NOTHING has failed to work out of 8 lights that they've sent so far)..........
This is JUST ONE LIGHT overhead in the rear, right here... The most recent one I put in was this(this is just ONE 3022W?? 31mm festoon LED from s.b.leds.com and was 4.99$, I believe, with my 5% off for return customers and another 10% off coupon they sent me by email. ........

110v outlet in ashtray pocket ran from my inverter in the side P/S rear cubby: $3.29 outlet, $1.99 metal plate, bout $15.00 in wire and plugs=$20 or so..
Front ash tray mod, sheetmatal was leftovers, switches $2.49ea @ O'Reilly, LEDs $1.99 @ Radio Shack, bolts $.35 ea=$14-15 bucks...
Corolla seat mod from an early 90's 4 door. Hug you alot better. Track width was perfect, mounting brackets needed to be cut and welded further apart (front to back) on the track..10ea/seat=$20....
And last but not least, (my favorite) "Get off my arse" tail-gater deterent. Pulled a rear window squirter and plumbed it to my rear washer tank, and filled it with some very light oil. When somebody decides to ride in my backseat on the highway I hit the pump and "oops I'm leaking oil". I get some on my inner bumper, but way worth it. Squirter- $5=priceless...

Im a total newbie here but Ive read 18 pages of these mods, just got my yota two months ago, and im getting a ˟˟˟˟ ton of Ideas, thought Id throw one out there, havnt put em in Geronimo yet, but in my Pathfinder I connected 30 ft of speaker wire to some of those waterproof yard speakers that look like rocks and ran them off of the rear speakers, they worked great for camping, cookouts, and the lake.

Welcome Geronimo,
Here are some cheap tricks for newbies: include the year, make, model, engine, trans, where you are from into your signature or avatar so that we can get to know you and help you better when you post.
I like to post in the newbie tech section with many issues because less is expected of me there and I don't get flamed for asking basic questions or for not searching. When searching try using Goggle I have found it more effective than this sites search function. Have fun and don't take anything here personally. We are simple folk and really like pictures.

Hell yes, I appreciate the welcome, and as soon as I figure out how to do all of that, I will get right on it lol.. In the meantime, Another Mod: My Soon to be father-in-law used to have a 78 bronco with 3 3/8 steel pipe bumpers, he said that he just drilled a hole in the side, added some grommets and a valve stem to where he could fill it with air, and then a quick release air hose.. came in handy for flat tires and air mattresses.
