I'll need to do a full detail here soon.
My cousin owns a really nice top notch car wash a mile from where I work and I do part-time work for him stocking chemicals, cleaning bays, empyting trash (worst part...people are gross) and doing minor maintenancing.
I wash my truck usually 3 times a week so if it gets anything on it, it doesn't stay on for long. We use a product made by TurtleWax called TripleShine.
This stuff is pretty awesome, it comes in three colors but I think that's mainly for effect. It essentially acts as a liquid clay bar agent. It bonds to surface contaminants and if allowed to sit for a minute or two, will effectively remove them. I used it for the first time on my Taco about a month ago and my paint hasn't looked that good since the day I bought it.
andrew,
You'll have to post up some before and after shots when you get your detailing done...if nothing else, maybe it will serve as motivation for those of us that still need to do it!

I'll post some after shots since I have already done Step 1. The comparison will be made to photos the day I took the car home to today to see how close I can get it looking show room. So far so good.
But the key thing I'll share when I am done is the exact process (including tip and cautions) and products I used so others can follow the same recipe if interested.

It is done and looks excellent. I have many more little things that I did and some tips but here is the main process I used:
1) Wash w/ Mother's & Use Wheel Cleaner and Soap on the wheels
2) Polish w/ Maguires #2
Allow to dry for a week
3) Wash again w Mother's
4) Apply Klasse Sealant/Glaze - make sure you cover everything but use a very thin layer (it works good on plastic and crome too)
Allow to dry overnight
5) Wax w/ Mother's Pure Wax (#3, NON-abrasive)
I also used Turtle Wax vinyl protector on the interior.
I took the car to a shop to have the undercarriage steam/pressured washed.
I sprayed another layer of Scotch guard on the interior.
I washed all of the windows last.
One thing I could see would have been beneficial would have been using a bug cleaner when I did the initial wash.
Notes: The truck will is still new - it will be 3 in Oct. It has been garaged for the past 2 years. I have 25,000 miles and I live in the Northeast. The point is different vehicle conditions will require different treatments. I'll try and get some photos over the weekend as I have to borrow a digital camera (Poloraid doesn't make film anymore ! lol)
