MODIFICATIONS that you regret?
Just curious what modifications people have done that they wish they hadn't, or wish they had done differently.
For those of us still in the process of modifying, this could be an interesting conversation ...

The deck plate mod has never proved anything to me but that's not really a big deal. A friend of mine did the K&E filter thing as mentioned above and changed back. That was money down the drain.
Sometime it seems like we get caught up in the hype of some of these ideas and follow along like following the pied piper and blow good money for nothing. Mike

MODIFICATIONS that you regret?
It was started in the 3rd gen 4runner/Tacoma forum. I'll start it here.
What modifications that you have done, that you regret doing?
If you did something regret, did you ditch/change it? Or do you still live with that POS mod to this day? What do you wish you did instead?

WATRD-
do you regret the nerf bars because you would have done sliders anyway? or have you not replaced them and regret them because they give you bad looks when you step on them? i was thinking about getting nerf bars (if i can get a good deal on them) as sliders don't really suit the driving needs (don't think i'll ever be able to justify them for off-road purposes). shopping centers, another point you may have...thanks.

Personally, my advice for anyone considering nerf bars, would be to save the money and find a set of sliders that you find cosmetically pleasing, even if that means having them made to your specs. Then have them powder coated or chromed or whatever suits you.
Nerfs don't really offer ANY protection. They even get dinged by shopping carts. They are ornamental steps only, whereas a good set of sliders can do EVERYTHING nerfs can, while offering a significant level of protection and frame stiffening as well.

That would be great ... I put it in the 3rd gen thread since I have a third gen, but it applies to all the trucks as far as I'm concerned.
How about people say why they didn't like the mod (someone posted fabtech coilovers in the other thread, why were they a regret?)
