Brake bleeding help asap
Hey guys have the truck jacked up (84 pickup) I am currently attempting to bleed the brakes. I started with sucking out the most of the old fluid in the reservoir. The filled with clean fluid. I then started with the passenger rear. GF was manning the brake and depressing three times really slowly while I opened the nipple(had line running into bottle with more fluid). We got about 2oz of fluid out and then nothing. The fluid stopped coming out and the pressure on the pedal stopped releasing.
After this happened I tried the driver rear and nothing came out. Also the pedal is only depressing a half inch or so now.
My questions
1 is this a cog
2 if so best ways to unclog if possible.
3 where should I start looking for clogs. Should I say screw it and just replace the brake lines. Trying to make a 4 hr trip on Sunday. So trying to get a temporary/permeant fix by then.
4 how much would it cost to replace hard and soft lines.

So I've pulled the bleeder out. I used a paper clip to clear any clogs in the seemed fine and was able to blow through it. Some fluid came out after the bleeder was out. It didn't shoot out though. Seems to just trickle out.

So I tried it again with the motor running and didint notice a big difference. But at that point I already made a two hour round trip o but a vac pump. Got the mighty vac. Worked pretty good. Need to do it again but defiantly an improvement.

Yea that's what she was doing. The vac pump helped get it drivable. Just got back today from Death Valley. Brakes were pretty sloppy but worked enough to get us there and back safely. Put about 6 hours on dirt roads. Pretty cool place.

Try doing this:
Get a long line, about 2 feet or so of tubing. Get a bottle and put the line in there submerged in brake fluid. Then place said bottle higher than the caliper and open the bleeder while someone pumps. No air can come back in b/c the line is submerged in fluid and the air is displaced and put out the top of the line due to the height it has to travel.
It is also possible (disconnect the batter for this), that you could take the cap off the master and put a stick or something to hold the brake pedal down over night. Believe it or not the air will purge itself. I do it all the time to motorcycles b/c the master is WAY to small for the pump method.

Cmj for the second method I take the lid off the master and have the brake depressed over night. I don't have the bleeders open right? Any one else ever try this. It's currently snowing. Already put 10" or so on the ground so might have to wait or go to a parking garage and leave it there.
