'94 Tercel?
So I found a 1994 Tercel with 65k on it. Body and interior are prestine. Looking to possibly switch it out for the toyota truck. Only issue with it is its a 3spd auto . I know this isnt a truck related question (is there a section for this?), but anyone have a opinion on these econo cars? Guy wants $1800

Tercels are decent cars from what I've gathered. My wife's family used to own one. The only real complaint I gathered from them was that it was only a 4spd manual - so any hwy travel was not ideal. I'd imagine the 3spd auto will be similar.
Also, I dunno what truck you have, but Tercel only gets like 30mpg. A 2wd pickup gets around that fuel economy. An early 90s corolla can get up toward 35mpg with the 5spd. A newer Corolla with VVTI (like a 2000) will get almost 40mpg...all of these you can find in that $2k price range.

The Tercel is a legend in durability. 64k is also absurdly low miles.
I've known a lot of people for whom the 90s Tercel was their first car, and all of them have positive things to say. I've always heard that they get much better than 30mpg highway. More like 30 pg in the city. However, you can find a car with better features for similar money.
If you're just using it for getting around and local commuting, then awesome. Like already said, the 3 speed might be kind of lame on freeways. Depends on where you live and what you will be using it for.
Now, would I unload your '94 pickup for it? No way.
