22r from MO to CO

Planning on driving my weber equipped 87 pickup with a 22r from missouri to colorado here in the next month or so and trying to determine whether or not i will need to rejet the carb along the way at some point. not planning on climbing any mountains but dont want to get stranded.

anyone have any experience with this?

thanks in advance

I have known several people doing something similar when driving here to colorado. If anything adjust timing rather than jetting just for simplicity sake.

Red face

If it was me i would not mess with it

Back in the olden days i ran all over the mountain west in a carbed vehicle and never touched anything .

if there was a mountain pass i went over just about all of them with no ill effects.

Granted it was not a 22R with a Weber carb.

Maybe if you where planning to move out there for good then you might want to tweak things a little for a visit It is up to you.:wabbit2:

I live near the ocean and jet my stuff for low altitude. Ive driven my VW with a progressive webber carb from sea level to 12000 feet or so with no problems. Driven my 22r with aisin carb to 8000 or so but still no problems. Havent tried a 22r with a webber but cant imagine you would have any more problems than a vw with same/similar carb. Id leave it alone... My 2cents
