YotaTech 2009 Calendar Voting Poll
#121
Update:
We are looking at a publisher for the calendar.
Most pubs want $$$ up front as they run the calendars in lots, and that means $$$ up front.
Just ask WabFab, he did it this way yesteryear for us, and then he had to mail them out individually, and that is a PITA.
We have one person working on the calendar, and I imagine he is spending time with his family during this holiday, so give him a break if you can.
I know Molly has her Women of YotaTech calendar lined up with Shutterfly, that may be an option with this main calendar.
We also ran into a few snags from a few members here who wanted in the calendar, then backed out at the last moment, and that alone caused a serious delay.
We are rather pissed off about that.
If we do one next year, it will get started in August so there is more time, and we will need help with this too from those who work with graphics.
I do not, so you would not want to see what my end result would look like for a calendar.
Also next year if you submit your pictures for the calendar and back out at the last moment, that is to bad, you submitted, you won, you are in the calendar, do not play games with us, grow up, and treat others like you would want to be treated.
I have received a few PMs on the calendar too, so this is why I am addressing this.
Give the guy a break who is working on this.

Having folks bail on us just sucks given the time frame to get to press.
Next year, an August start will be better and give members time to submit, vote, and prep the material for printing. If I can help, let me know what needs to be done.
Happy Holidays to all!

Thanks Chris.
From what I have heard from Molly about Shutterfly, it might work with this one too.
I have a non paying Cafe Press account, but they only let you use one picture, not fourteen like we have for this one.
Plus I think Shutterfly will let each member order them one at a time, you do not need to buy them in lots first.
That is what Brian (WabFab) had to do yesteryear, and it is a lot more work that way.
If you buy them in lots then do not sell them all, you are stuck with them.
But yes, we want to get an earlier start for the 2010 one, and have some who can help us work on it.

I understand that some have done some leg work, and I just sent a friend an email asking what's involved in getting one produced. He's been working at a printing press firm for over 2 decades so should have some useful info and maybe can work a deal. I sort of doubt he'll be able to get the job printed as they're a large shop in Vancouver, but it never hurts to ask.

If Steve can get the pics done, we can do it with Shutterfly, the same outfit that Molly used for the Women of YotaTech calendar.
I would imagine Molly will have the link up soon.
I already bought mine as a test with Shutterfly earlier today.
And I must say Mary (1972TLC) is looking mighty fine as a cover girl.
To order with Shutterfly they make them when someone orders one too, so there is no need to mass order a bunch at a time, this helps us out.
Also to order with Shutterfly, you must create an account with them which is free, and they do not share your email with 3rd parties so I am told.

He he he...
I had never heard of them until I saw where Molly was posting her trail pictures from all the time.
But I should have the Ladies one as follows:
Tue 01/06/2009 - Sat 01/10/2009
I will be able to get a feel of the quality of the paper, thickness, and we can decide then if we will use them next year too.
It would be nice if they are very good quality, as that will make next years calendars oh so much easier to get out to everyone.

Steve has the pics from all of you that he sent PMs to to notify you that you were the winner.
Steve is absent right now, we do not know where he is, nor can we get in touch with him.
So right now you know as much as we do.
If Molly can secure the into later, she will put the calendar up after she creates it with Shutterfly like she did the other calendar.
We are not sure if Steve is out of town on business or what happened.
All we know is that he was working on it and had some templates done, and ran into a few snags when two winners backed out at the last minute which pissed us all off.
