Trying to figure out what size main bearings and rod bearings I have 22RE
This is my first engine overhaul, I have a 22RE engine that spun a bearing and now I have torn it down and have found out that the crank is damaged. I plan on purchasing a new crank and bearings. However I cannot figure out what size bearings I have, I realize this is a really noobie question to ask but I'm stuck Where should I look on the bearings?
Any help is greatly appreciated thank you very much!

If your getting a new crank the bearings need to be sized to the new crank
So both your main and rod bearings will be sized to your new crank.
I know Engine Builder had a package new crank and bearings

Thank you very much your awesome I didn't think of that. So a new crank would be standard right? Also is there anyway to find out if my block has been bored? Like something on the bearings or do I need to use a veneer caliper or something?
Thank you!!
Thank you!!

For the most part I have every tool I need. I don't have a micrometer for the cylinder but I figured there was another way to figure it out. I can't afford machine shop work getting machine work done on the existing crank would be as much as a new one.

Well you need telescopic bore gauges, micrometer, caliper, cylinder hone, ring compressor, ridge reamer(maybe), factory service manual, plasti guage, tap and die set (clean up threads bolts etc), torque wrenches, and probably a lot more tools to do it right.

If your caliper is large enough measure the pistons you removed .
If the block has been bored sometimes it is stamped on the pistons.
Unless you have a inside Mic it is pretty hard.
Are you planning to hot tank the block at home ??
Do all the head work yourself ??
It is all well and good to want to learn most don`t want to.
Then there is being dumb
Just how bad is your crank scored do you even know if it can be cleaned up??
What kind of clearance do you have on the cam bearings
What do the rocker pads and screws look like ??
Any cracks in the head ??
Is it warped ??
Checked the manifolds for straightness and cracks.
You should really have a good set of outside and inside Micrometers in the sizes one needs.
Along with the Factory Service Manual for the year you have. then you have all the specs you need
That is why most all of us take it to a Machine shop .
