Transmission Fill Plug Help
Pretty basic question, I know, but I need help with my transmission. I have an 86 4runner with a 22r-e and a 5 speed. I am pretty sure that my transmission fill plug is just in front of the reverse light switch (17mm). I've been trying to crack it open so I can top off the fluid, the things been leaking for the last two years that I have had it, but it won't break loose. I want to be sure that I have the correct plug and see if there are any tricks to getting the plug out. I hit it with WD40 and have tried with a lot of leverage on both a wrench and a socket. Afraid if I keep trying to force it I will strip the bolt head. Any help would be appreciated.

Try hitting it with PB Blaster or another penetrating oil stronger than WD-40. Yes, that the fill plug. It helps to use a 6 point socket to reduce chance of rounding plug.
