The OFFICIAL IFS "What size tire will fit" thread

GA22re If your hub size is stock-even with your locking hubs-then as Waskilly says there would be no apparent reason these would not work.
Perhaps I am missing the point- is your concern regarding the backspacing of the 4runner rim? or clearing calipers or something?
pretty sure that cross hatch design pictured was a Toyota OEM rim for the earlier 4Runners- sure can't think of a reason it would not work on a DLX pickup if I am reading your posting correctly.
Simple enough to be sure....remove one of yours and bolt up one of his and check clearance and so on...and if not it should be easy enough to find another buyer...
perhaps you can find that seller's rim online and verify all the specs against your current rim setup to be 100% sure.
If they are 15 x 7 JJ or whatever it should all be good yes?

It's time to change the tires on my '07 Stock Taco D-Cab. Currently has 265/65/17's, I found a good deal on General Grabber AT2 265/70/17's.
Will they fit? Are they a good tire? I would appreciate any feedback and/or opinions.
Thanks.

I have a stock 85 sr5 truck, and i am planning on doing a 2" body lift, and I want to know what tires i can run? Mainly i will drive it on the road, but occasionaly take it off. So any ideas as to what i can rub with the lift as opposed to stock?

Fender trimming:

Or longer shackle, mild body lift, move front axle forward, etc. I had to do all the above to fit 33x9.50s w/ a 3.5" susp. lift:
Main issue with the solid front axle is the axle moves backwards under compression because the spring shackle swings backwards (and unfortunately Toyota, in it's infinite wisdom, placed the front wheels too far back in the wheel well opening):
Note that on IFS trucks, the front wheels only move up and down as the suspension cycles, while on solid front axles, it moves down (and forward) and up (and back). What this means is that on IFS, a 31x10.50 fits perfectly on stock suspension, while on a solid axle, a 31x10.50 tire will rub on the back of the front wheel well.

i have 1999 4runner, stock, no life, with running boards. i have 265/70 right now but i wanna see how much of a difference 265/75 would make (with no lift) are there pictures floating around here showing the difference?
#213
Only a 1" taller tire (31.6" vs. 30.6") so not a lot of difference, 1/2" extra ground clearance.

Big...
I is this going on your 82 or 94? I have a 95 runner and I could stuff 33x12.50's without a lift. IMO you don't need 8" of lift and big shoes...but what do I know. You can probably run 38's or so but you have to worry about gearing as well. Hmmmmm did you think of that? They might fit but can you turn them.
Do you have a 3.0 or a 22re, auto or manual? it all makes a difference.
I'm assuming this is on the 94.
